You could say it is unusual to find this Austrian Zweigelt grape in the Etschtal valley. Planting this red wine grape was an endeavour that started a good twenty years ago now. An endeavour that has ultimately proven successful. The recipe: calm vine growth, low grape yield and a late harvest, a year to age in the small oak barrel, plus a few more months in the bottle. The result? Intense colour, aromas of dark forest fruits and a pleasant mouthfeel with soft, velvety tannins. A wine that has found its lovers. It goes well with dark meat and is perfect for pondering life on a beautiful evening.
