Rooms at Wehrburg Castle: beauty and authenticity

Experience simplicity wedded to modern comfort

Our hotel has the right room for everyone’s taste, from a country-style room in one of the two castle towers to a cosy four-poster bed in a guest room of the palas. Come sleep in one of our fairy-tale rooms in Wehrburg Castle. Perhaps the Barber of Wehrburg will even pay you a visit. It is our job to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We are always open to consider your special requests and suggestions for improvement. Our staff is happy to satisfy your wishes, and we look forward to discussing them personally with you. Because everyone deserves a little royal treatment.

Our hotel has 23 rooms, each 15-40 square metres. They include 3 single rooms and 20 double rooms. Our single and double rooms are located in the fortress towers and in the castle’s residential palas. The majority of our rooms are located in the extended palas building. They have a simple elegance with historical furnishings and details. Most of the rooms are decorated with murals and bring to mind earlier times. Let yourself unwind, and feel like a knight or a damsel.

Stay in a real fortress tower

The rooms in Wehrburg’s two fortress towers are a special experience for every first-time guest. Many of our regular patrons, however, also appreciate the special charm and tranquillity of the other guest rooms. The smaller rooms are simply furnished and possess a special charm. Guest rooms with warm and stylish wood furnishings are located on three floors in the 18-metre-high towers. The rooms can only be reached by spiral staircase.

A total of 90 steps must be conquered to reach the top of the tower. Carrying baggage up these steps therefore requires a certain amount of physical stamina. Half way up there’s a place to rest if you need it. Those who conquer the climb are rewarded with a unique feeling of serenity and calm. Here is where you can recharge both body and soul. The splendid view from the tower windows furthermore ensures a relaxed holiday mood from the first moments. From here one can take in the entire landscape.

Live like royalty in the castle palas

The long palas building holds larger rooms with historical furnishings. Some are outfitted with a historical ceramic stove. These rooms have easier accessibility and are therefore recommended for our less mobile guests. The palas is reached from the castle entrance over a covered, double staircase of stone. Authentic wooden ceilings, murals, chandeliers and stained glass windows convey a feeling of living in a real castle.

Experience a feeling of decompression and genuine relaxation

Your holiday should primarily be relaxing, and a time to recharge your batteries. Our Wehrburg is just the place for tuning out from daily stress or simply enjoying a place of serenity and nature. All of our rooms convey the feeling of living in a genuine castle. For this reason, they are without certain conventional amenities, such as air conditioning, television or mini bar. So that you can really tune out the bustle of modern life. Soon enough you’ll no longer miss the TV, but rather appreciate the quiet and the interesting conversation as well as the calming gaze into the distance.
