White wines

Muskateller

Muscat varieties are among the oldest grape varieties in the world and are said to have been cultivated in ancient Egypt. In South Tyrol, where they have been native for centuries, the white variety bears the melodious name Goldmuskateller (Golden Muscat). The large, loose-berried bunches are the last of the white wine varieties to ripen, shining in a brilliant golden yellow on the vines in October. For lovers of fruit-forward wines, this variety is a special delight. At the castle estate, the Goldmuskateller is vinified dry. As the youngest member of the Wehrburg wines, it presents itself as elegant, easy-drinking, and aromatically complex, with a delicate, varietally typical hint of muscat. The Goldmuskateller is an excellent aperitif and also adds a special touch to premium cocktails. It pairs wonderfully with light, delicately spiced dishes as well as cheeses.
